Butoh is a Japanese avant-garde dance form founded by Tatsumi Hijihata, Kazuo Ohno and Akira Kasai in 1959.  Created as tool to explore the original authenticity of Japanese body it has spread in Europe from the 80's creating a new generation of Butoh dancers that employ this tool to explore their own Body.

There are as many Butoh dances as Butoh dancers.  The body of Butoh is pre cultural, archaic, untamed, is an Holistic body where there is no longer distinction made between the physical and the spiritual.  Butoh is an exploration tool to dig deep in ones bodily subconscious, to keen the senses, enhance perception and develop a stronger presence alongside with movement creativity, strength, flexibility and resistance.
Butoh is a tool for self discovery and expression and a powerful performative art form.

I call my research in the field of Butoh “the Spiritual Mechanism” and in classes and workshop I teach my method based on the analysis and the cross overs of tools and perspectives I gathered in over 20 yrs of studies.

Classes are structured in 3 parts :
Warm up, stretching and basic body conditioning.
Tools for exploration.
Guided improvisations.

Classes are open to everyone with or without former experience or body training.
All bodies and genders are welcome, this is a queer friendly safer space.

Every Tuesday 12am - 3pm. Thursdays from Nov 24.
3h class.

Prices:
Single class/drop in - 20 EUR
