Bodies as Texts; Texts as Bodies – Extended Version with Play Party
The ethics and politics of consensual domination are an essential feature of conscious kink. However, from a psychoanalytic and feminist perspective, domination has been a major focus of critique. In light of this critique, the evening will focus on consensual domination, its theoretical framework, and embodied practice. How can we remain critical of domination while embodying it in a boundary-respecting approach? How can desire be communicated as an invitation, not as an imposition? What are the psychodynamics of D/s and S/M respectively?
The event is gender-inclusive but for switchers and top-identifying people only. The first part will consist of reading and discussing a theoretical text on consensual domination. This space is kink-friendly with an emphasis on intellectual and creative exploration rather than explicit sexuality. After a longer break, there will be the Impossible Play Party for tops only — almost.
Participation in either part is possible. If you are considering attending the Impossible Play Party only, please check in with yourself about the safety with which you embody dominance. We will trust you, so be honest with yourself.
Session Structure
17:00–19:30 Philosophical Readings, followed by Discussion and Somatic Exercises
21:00–01:00 The Impossible Play Party – Tops only (co-tops and switchers welcome)
No prior reading is required. We will read a key passages of philosophical texts together, discuss its implications, and then bring it to life through movement and play in ways that are intellectually engaging and physically exploratory. For those who would like to prepare, I will provide the texts in advance.
Das IKSK-Seminar ist ein zweisprachiger Raum. Alle Varianten von Deutsch und Englisch sind willkommen. Das passive Verständnis beider Sprachen reicht aus.
Sliding scale: €20–25, drop-in.
